DAP’s Diverse-City Art Competition gives students the opportunity to express, through art, their understanding and awareness of diversity and inclusion within their communities and schools. Our judges reviewed over 100 entries from students, K-12, from across the St. Louis Metropolitan area. DAP thanks all the students, parents, and teachers who participated this year! From among these submissions, the following artists were selected as this year’s winners:
K – 2nd Grade:
3rd – 5th Grade:
Zola Gutierrez and Sylvia Woldow
6th – 8th Grade:
Anne Calli Moske (Honorable Mention)
9th – 12th Grade:
All students in Kindergarten through 12th grade residing in the St. Louis Metropolitan area are eligible. Students will compete in the following categories: K-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, 6th-8th grade, 9th-12th grade.
A panel of judges will evaluate entries on the basis of theme interpretation, composition and originality. The artist’ names and schools will be kept confidential until judging is complete.
Prizes will be awarded to First, Second and Third Place winners in each category. Winning submissions will also be displayed at a DAP community event this summer, and be featured items in the silent auction at the annual Diversity Dinner November 16, 2017.
Submissions are now closed. Please contact Alix Johnson, Youth Programs Manager, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 314-246-3145 for questions on pieces that have already been submitted.
