Join Diversity Awareness Partnership and others in your community for a FREE Community Forum followed by two Listen. Talk. Learn.: Week of Dialogue community sessions hosted by companies in our community.

Recently, several issues have been brought to surface that center around racism and systems of oppression.  We, at Diversity Awareness Partnership, understand that barriers to inclusion and equity are not always easy to grapple with and we believe that honest and productive dialogue is the first step to lasting and systemic change.Diversity Awareness Partnership is committed to providing a space for community members to join and have dialogue around these issues of concern. DAP, along with Stephens College, Veterans United and Shelter Insurance, will be hosting a series of opportunities throughout the Columbia community. Various times and locations are scheduled from Tuesday through Friday during the second week of December.

Community Panel Discussion: The community forum will give Columbians an opportunity to hear from a panel of concerned leaders in the community and ask the questions needed to make informed decisions about personal commitments to making our community more inclusive.

Listen. Talk. Learn. Sessions: Through the Listen. Talk. Learn. community sessions, our hope is that our community rebuilds by talking to one another, learning more about communities we have limited exposure to, and bridging our divides through awareness and education.

Attendees will leave the Listen. Talk. Learn. training with the following information:

  • Differences between Debate vs. Dialogue
  • Facilitation Tips and Strategies
  • Strategy for answering difficult and polarizing questions about race, racism, and bias

Any individual or group interested in learning how to navigate difficult dialogue around the topics of race, racism, and unconscious bias is encouraged to register for these trainings.
