Program Manager Olin


Olin Corporation is hiring a Project Manager to be located at the Clayton, Missouri headquarters. This is a corporate IT position responsible for overseeing scheduling, budget and performance of organizational programs. The Project Manager will develop solutions to program challenges and possibly manage multiple or large-scale projects. This role may aid with proposal development, contract negotiation and contract compliance. Proposal preparation may include assisting with plans, specifications and financial terms of the contract.

The Program Manager will work closely with the EPMO Manager for reporting and issue escalation purposes, as well as aid the EPMO Manager in integrating projects across the EPMO.

  • Effectively communicates program expectations, goals, priorities, scope and status to all stakeholders
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized business solutions and presentations
  • Facilitates program-level and stakeholder meetings (e.g. steering committee meetings)
  • Responsible for delivery quality-from original concept through final implementation
  • Anticipates stakeholder needs and proposes appropriate solutions
  • Ensures program deliverables are on time and on budget while meeting stakeholder expectations
  • Clearly understands program and project roles to effectively manage team activities
  • Maintains experience in tracking and managing projects using MS Project or similar PM software
  • Manages program-level day-to-day operational and tactical aspects
  • Reviews high-level deliverables across projects
  • Implements project management and software development lifecycle procedures
  • Proactively evaluates and manages Program and Project risks, and escalates issues as appropriate to minimize delays and disruption
  • Manages scope and change across the program
  • Provides reliable top-down and bottom-up estimates as necessary
  • Helps determine ways to employ teams on projects and distribute responsibilities
  • Recognizes areas for improvement and develops plans for implementation

Tracking and Reporting

  • Forecasts, reports and manages program costs
  • Effectively establishes and uses budget tracking approach and metrics to track productivity and earned value (as appropriate)
  • Manages optimization of performance across program platforms to achieve the best functional and technical value
  • Tracks program component costs with overall program administration costs
  • Provides reporting and tracking of program status, risks and issues to solution delivery leaders
  • May directly or indirectly (in a matrixed organization) lead team members

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree*; computer science, business or related field preferred
  • 5+ years’ directly related experience with leading multiple groups of people and programs in an IT environment
  • Approximately 10% travel
  • Solid understanding of IT strategy and governance concepts
  • Strategy development and communication experience is essential
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills which provide the ability to:
  • establish and build working relationships with individuals  throughout the organization  in support of IT department objectives; work closely with people at all levels of the organization
  • Thorough understanding of general business operations and processes

*Degree must be from a school that is accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of Education of the U.S. Department of Education
