Our Mission, Vision and Programs
Diversity Awareness Partnership’s mission is to act as a catalyst to increase awareness, facilitate engagement and provide education about diversity, equity and inclusion. Our vision is an inclusive community where diversity is respected and embraced, and equity is the norm. We accomplish these goals through diversity trainings with corporate and community partners, an annual Diversity Summit, community forums with nonprofit partners to explore timely and critical issues, diversity publications, youth programming, career immersion programs, C suite diversity roundtables, and our membership program – DAP Connect.
The Executive Director will be accountable to the organization’s board of directors in four key areas:
Leadership & Strategy
Review and revise (as needed) the strategic recommendations adopted in DAP’s 2015 Strategic Plan
Provide additional strategic recommendations to the board as situations and opportunities arise
Assess the viability and create a comprehensive strategy to scale DAP throughout the state of Missouri and nationwide
Increase the public profile of the agency by serving as thought leader on all issues relating to diversity, equity and inclusion
Communications & Development
Manage overall media efforts and public communications, including television, radio and print messaging
Act as the organization’s key spokesperson. Must be comfortable with public speaking.
Develop, oversee and execute a comprehensive funding plan from public, private funding, and earned income sources
Responsible for any fundraising and special events including DAP’s annual Diversity Dinner.
Management of Business Operations
Plan, coordinate and manage the daily operations of the organization including:
Oversee and grow the organization’s financial structure and increase revenue from $800,000 annually to a million dollar plus organization
Manage and implement an effective performance management system for all employees that will include setting objectives and evaluation on an annual basis
Manage all financial reporting and provide oversight on issues related to organizational risk management
Oversight & Evaluation of Programs and Curricula
Ability to design and evaluate Diversity and Inclusion training and program content
Credentials to represent and present on behalf of DAP at conferences and other continuing education gatherings locally and nationally
Qualifications / Requirements
Education, Experience and Skills Required
Bachelors’ degree from a four-year college or university required, Master’s preferred
Five years related experience in diversity and inclusion; or equivalent combination of education, professional and volunteer experiences in diversity, equity and inclusion
Five years supervisory experience
Familiarity with strategic communications, marketing and advertising campaign development and management.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and legal documents.
Ability to manage and work with multiple constituencies including board of directors, donors, private sector clients, nonprofit partners, individual members and other community leaders
Excellent writing and public speaking skills
Demonstrated success or willingness to create and pursue innovative, market-driven resource development opportunities in the non-profit environment
Computer skills needed include: Microsoft Office Products, Google Platforms, and Quickbooks
