Database Administrator – SQL Server DOT Foods

Reports To: Business Systems Development Manager
Department: Information Technology

Responsible for SQL Server database structure, design, maintenance, and development standards.

Responsibilities

  • Execute database maintenance tasks, such as backup/recovery, patching, and failovers
  • Performance tune, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL servers using native monitoring and troubleshooting
    tools
  • Assist application teams with developing complex processes, planning upgrades, and configuring
    environments
  • Develop SQL Server applications that follow best practices and programming standards
  • Applies lean tools and thinking to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position

Role Specifics:

  • Travel – Occasional overnight travel. Ability to independently travel as needed, without restriction, by all
    modes of transportation, including car, plane or train for industry meetings or conferences.
  • After hours – on call rotation to support business needs; nights and weekend work as needed

Qualifications / Requirements

We need you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent Dot experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

We'd like you to have:

  • Database design and modeling knowledge
  • Proficient technical background with SQL and T-SQL
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
