EXPLORE Financial Services

Many students hear about Edward Jones, but they may not be aware of the different services that the company provides. Associates take time to help students understand the multiple career opportunities at an investment firm, the wide spectrum of clients that Edward Jones serves and the services that are offered. The program features a spectrum of associates, from those who work face-to-face with clients, to those who work behind the scenes in areas such as information services.

The EXPLORE Financial Services program does not just focus on Edward Jones as a firm. Associates are interested in helping students figure out what career paths they would like to pursue. Resume building, interviewing and mentorship are three elements that this program provides to the students. The one-on-one interaction with associates has shown to be a valuable experience for participants.

According to research published by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, racial minorities make up only 8 percent of the industry. As part of efforts to make the financial services industry in St. Louis more inclusive, Diversity Awareness Partnership and Edward Jones created the EXPLORE Financial Services program that focus on connecting students of color to professional mentors and developing important skills to support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workforce in our region.
