The Diversity Dinner celebrates the diversity and inclusion efforts of DAP – Columbia and its community partners. Over 200 people come together for an evening of cultural performances, networking, and inspirational remarks by a regional leader. All proceeds from the Diversity Dinner support DAP’s programming, including community Listen. Talk. Learn sessions, youth engagement initiatives and awareness campaigns.
Melody Marcks is a Senior Vice President and Director of Human Resources with Central Bank of Boone County. She has a bachelor’s of science in Business and Public Administration from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado, Boulder. She holds the certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Society of Human Resources – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She serves on the University of Missouri, Trulaske College of Business, Management Advisory Board and the Office of Cultural Affairs Commission with the City of Columbia. Melody is involved in the Score for Hunger with the Food Bank, and is responsible for the community involvement volunteer activities and events for Central Bank of Boone County.

Our Diversity Dinner Emcee is noted MU professor DR. CYNTHIA M. FRISBY. In 2002 the University of Missouri-Columbia awarded her one of its highest teaching honors, the William T. Kemper Fellowship. Student-athletes recognized her outstanding teaching by naming her one of the four Most Inspiring Professors on the MU campus in 2007. Several Mizzou ’39 honorees have named Frisby as their mentor. Mizzou ’39 honors outstanding seniors for their academic achievements, leadership and service. Frisby earned her doctorate degree and her master’s degree from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications. She joined the Missouri School of Journalism faculty in January 1998.
